Here I'll give you a quick step by step: • Download Lunar IPS: • Download the hack files from the link elsewhere in this thread • Download an Emerald ROM. We're not allowed to direct link, but Google 'emerald trashman' and use the first Google result • These will all download as ZIPs. Extract them to the same place that's easy to remember. • Open Lunar IPS and pick apply new patch.

Select 'Pokemon Emerald National Dex.ips' as the patch file and '1986 - Pokemon Emerald (U)(TrashMan).gba' as the game file. The program will patch the rom. • Now the 1986.gba file has the hack applied. Rename it to something like 'Emerald386.gba' or the like to remind yourself it's patched. • Open VBA, select load rom, and open your patched Emerald rom. Hmm, I don't see why you would. SECOND EDIT: I only tested VBA-M but it would probably work with mGBA too. I recommend mGBA as its updated more often and has some features VBA-M doesn't. Only thing it really doesn't have is pixel filters.

THIRD EDIT: Make absolutely sure the Emerald ROM you're patching is clean. I recommend having a folder where you keep clean ROMs, then copy them elsewhere (and rename them) when you want to patch one. (Especially if you're applying an.ips patch as they don't check whether the rom you're applying to is valid) • • • • •.
